Massive cache of illegal firearms seized after arrest of gun supplier in Meerut, UP

• UP Special Task Force seizes a significant stash of illegal firearms following the arrest of Vinay Tyagi in Meerut
• The recovered weapons were destined for criminal gangs in West UP's Meerut and Muzaffarnagar, as well as gangs in Delhi and Uttarakhand

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) successfully recovered a substantial cache of illegal firearms during a Wednesday night operation in Meerut, leading to the arrest of Vinay Tyagi from Saharanpur's Deoband. The seized weapons, including 10 pieces of .32 bore country-made pistols and 12 magazines, were intended to be supplied to various criminal gangs in West UP's Meerut and Muzaffarnagar, as well as gangs in Delhi and Uttarakhand. The STF revealed that Vinay Tyagi had acquired the firearms from an illicit supplier based in Indore and was planning to hand them over to Rakshit Tyagi, son of notorious gangster Vicky Tyagi and Meena Tyagi.

 According to STF officials, Rakshit Tyagi, who managed to escape during the raid near Mawana bus stand petrol pump in Meerut, was present at the location. The arrested Vinay Tyagi confessed during interrogation that he had previously transported firearms from Indore on two occasions at the behest of Rakshit Tyagi, receiving ₹15,000 for each trip.

Rakshit Tyagi, running the gang independently in the absence of his parents – Vicky Tyagi on the run for months and Meena Tyagi incarcerated in Ambedkarnagar jail – is now the focus of the ongoing investigation. The STF is conducting further raids to apprehend Rakshit Tyagi and other gang members, while Vinay Tyagi is being interrogated for additional information on the gang and firearm purchasers.
